These are from my experience. I am sure the experts wil have some or all of these too. Feel free to add or discard some of these tips. List not exhaustive.

  1. Know your kids & what's important in each of their lives.
  2. Set a high standard for your group.
  3. Be considerate & empathise.
  4. Be consistent.
  5. Emphasize the person above the rules.
  6. Listen thoughtfully & objectively to what they say.
  7. Give them objectives & vision.

  9. Delegate authority as much as possible.
  10. Show you have faith in each of them & you expect them to do their best.
  11. Keep them informed about stuff.
  12. Let them in your plans for them as early as feasible.
  13. Ask them for input/help.
  14. Respect their ideas.
  15. Allow them a part in decision making that affects the group.
  16. Tell the person who originates the idea the impact it has, what action was taken & why.
  17. Allow them to carry out their ideas.
  18. Build up their sense of belonging to the group.
  19. Minimize unpleasant surprises.
  20. Criticize constructively & in private.
