How to reach the Christian Youth

  • Be willing to meet the youth on their home ground. Don't expect them to come to church to meet you.
  • When you are speaking to them about Jesus, keep Him as the topic. Don't bring in religion. Jesus is more important.
  • Find needs-based starting points to build relationships with the youth.
  • Creatively translate the message of the cross in to language the youth will understand.
  • Foster and nurture meaningful relationships with them.
  • Attractively package the gospel. This can be done without diluting the message. Provide a social hook.
  • Find a team which will allow you to multiply your efforts effectively.
  • Fast and pray so that the Spirit may empower you as you claim souls for Christ.
  • Don't work for the fame or the rewards as these may take YEARS to come about. Don't use youth ministry to feed your ego.
  • Always follow through with each project.
  • The closest some people may EVER come to Jesus this side of judgement is you. Make sure they get a positive message.
