Christian Parents II

Why do these parents doubt their children? Isn't it possible for your child to be capable of spiritual achievements greater than you? I have a theory that christian parents in our times are complacent about their spiritual level so they RARELY want to go any further. They can speak in tongues & hear from God (when they do try to seek Him) and they think that's enough. Then they seem to get upset when their children are moving more than they are! Doesn't make sense to me. I would think that you would be proud if your child is going further than you. Guess that's why I'm not a parent. It annoys me, especially in my class, when the parents refuse to see where their child is going spiritually. All they care about is grades & housework. don't they realize that if the child meets God, EVERYTHING else will fall into place? Of course grades are good but some parents would rather their child stay home doing nothing constructive than go to spiritual events. This fuels my belief that the parents ( ironically the christian ones seem more resistant to their children's spiritual growth ) are the main reason why so many christian children slack off from God and, in too many tragic cases, backslide altogether. I hope this changes soon. The parents though seem not to be able to take correction easily. I am certain that something happened in the 1970's as too many of them have the SAME issues! So it's not a case where you can show the parent where they are wrong using biblical precepts and expect them to make a change. In fact, you may get abused as all they see is that how dare you correct them and you are younger than they are! It annoys me but such is life. God knows how to deal with them but it still annoys me. Will pray aboutt he matter though. Later.
