Interesting Rule

I was reading a blog by a seemingly fun chinese girl where she referred to a rule stating that if a guy doesn't propose to a girl after 2 years of dating, he will NEVER propose. Is that true? I wonder. I've been with Nicole for 3 years but I proposed a long time ago so I can't use myself as an example. Help!!!
