Air Jamaica

I'm convinced that this government has some unknown interest in DESTROYING the airline! If not, how then can you explain the IDIOTIC decisions being made by the so-called "management" that just results in the airline's reputation being sullied? I can't see the method in their madness. Is there only madness? Does Vin Lawrence know what he's doing? Or does he know what he's doing & it's to sabotage the airline. I agree wholeheartedly with the pilots' association's letter that came out in the papers recently. I can just imagine how demoralized the staff is right now. i'm sorry guys. From the pinnacle of success to the bottom of the rung of the civil service! Hope you guys don't get whiplash! How can you fire MECHANICS? PILOTS? For an airline? It is impossible for any airline to survive without government bailout these days. NONE of the major airlines have done it so why would we expect Air Jamaica to be different? We NEED our own airline! Don't we remember when American decided to stop flights to a certain Caribbean country. Remember the panic generated in that country which depends on tourism as a major source of foreign exchange? Why should we VOLUNTARILY put ourselves through that? I hope & pray that we can find a way to change the current management team as they don't seem to have a clue about knowing how to run an airline. I don't know either but I don't think I can do much worse than these "well-qualified" managers. I hope my countrymen wise up & start to agitate for the return of sanity (Stewart & company) to our airline soon before it's reduced to a (painful) memory.
