Mel-world : The Uniquely Unique Mind of Mel
This Weblog documents the experiences, rants & views of a Jamaican christian on disparate topics & articles/essays that he deems relevant. It will also record the developmentof & events in the lives of his "students in Christ" over time and acts as both bulletin board & newsletter for them. For this reason, some posts may make no sense to you or may actually seem boring. However, the views expressed here are his and,if offended, the reader is free to ignore them or leave the blog.

Hagos has left. (part 2)
I don't understand this young man. I'm now being blamed for everything from "brain-washing" to interfering in his private life. I'm trying not to say anything as I believe in not stooping to other people's levels but he is really pushing it. Every day (literally) I hear what wrongs I've done. If you leave me, just leave me. Why the recrimination? Sheesh! It just shows to me that the boys in my group are more sensitive than the girls & got certain feminine attributes. I hope this changes shortly though. Giving him some more time to make an ass of himself. After that, I'll speak again. Later.
Driving
Some of my kids are learning to drive now. That's good. Giving them a sense of achievement. They are doing well as all of them can reach 2nd gear. I'm just using one track for now in their training. So far Tanesha, Jerdine, Janeze & Troy are doing well. Giving them the van is not so bad but they need to learn to change gears while steering. Plus judgement is not sharp yet. But they are coming along nicely. We'll see how it goes though. Later.
I want a job.
I hate not having a job. It annoys me. I'm used to having so much money that I don't know how to spend it. Now I need to depend on people and on odd jobs. Not good for my pride. Honestly, I resent God right now as I'm qualified yet can't land a job. It's annoying. really annoying. Did I mention that I'm annoyed? Just making sure. I hope I get a job soon. I've been short-listed on 2. So we'll see how that goes. Later.
Sports Day summary.
We were supposed to leave at 10am. We got everyone except Oneil at 10. Ended up waiting on him. We left Spanish Town about 10:30. We had 16 people plus Nicole & I. We were in 2 vehicles, mine & Adrian's. We reached around 11. We prayed (sang couple songs in Spanish Town) and the ground rules were laid down. We went to the site. Heard no football was allowed. Oh well.
We started with Dandy Shandy where some interesting "sighting" (Akeame) was done but the "outs" were classic ( about 2). The ball was used to punishing effect. I especially remember Ronica vociferous anticipation of getting hit. That ended with the scores at 62 - 89.
We then had sprints. Richard was beaten by Rochelle in a match of the little ones. Then Akeame won against the reputed Wolmers' track star Adrian. Adrian was obviously unfit but Akeame still rubbed it in. Orane beat Troy but I think Troy got cut (never run on grass barefooted unless u sure about the surface). Janeze beat Ronica easily but then Janeze was the hot favourite as she can sprint so no surprise though. Bassonio beat Brandon despite Brandon being a Calabar student (oh well), boasting that he was doing it in restricting (aka tight) jeans. Jerdine beat Latoya as Jerdine is lighter & Latoya moved off slowly. Oneil beat Leevander in the battle of next door neighbours. The scores for Sprints were 55 - 50.
We had baseball next. The teams were unmatched with team 2 blowing out team 1 with a score of 10 - 2. Ronica got upset with Leevander for outing her despite an injury. Tempers flared but mercifully didn't get out of hand. There was some great displays of "athleticism" notably by Latoya during this event.
The Straw Relay was ok. No drama here as the group didn't see the event as worthwhile. Team 2 won this event. The score was 30 - 70.
What turned out to be the final event was the Sprint relays. In the 2 x 25m relay (female), using straws for batons, Janeze & Jerdine easily achieved victory despite Tanesha's & Latoya's best attempts to win. Interesting running styles by the way. The male pair of Troy & Oneil achieved victory over Bassanio & Orane despite dropping the batons TWICE. (lost points). The final event was the 4 x 25m relay. The team of Akeame, Oneil, Ronica & Latoya defeated the team of Adrian, Lee, Janeze & Jerdine in competitive race until team 1 dropped the baton on the anchor leg. The scores after the relays were 15-35.
In conclusion, hats off to Oneil for great leadership of his team. He did well & led by example. Lee was ok in his stewardship but he needs to involve his team more in his decisions. Plus lack of creativity was evident in some of his decisions.
Team 2 blew out Team 1 on sports day with a score of 254 - 164. This will go a far way in moving the deficit from where it was after the jeopardy quiz.
The group is still indisciplined, spoilt, immature & disrespectful to a degree but I see progress in a few areas so I'm still hanging on. Great day overall. Glad I went.

Poem to Nicole
Oh Nicole, Oh Nicole, Oh Nicole!
You are sexier than a go-go dancer on a centrepole,
Your lips are pink,
Guess what they make me think,
Your face is cute,
Baby, I'm telling you the truth,
I like your smile,
It keeps me warm for a while,
Your butt is so nice, firm & round,
A better one (for me) cannot be found,
I like your legs, they are so strong,
Even though to be honest, they aren't that long.
I love how you sometimes think,
Willing to explore every kink,
I love how you care about me,
It really means a lot baby,
Marrying you won't be hard,
As I most definitely want you in my yard,
In public you are quiet and shy,
That's what caught my eye,
In private, you are sweet & sincere,
So in my heart, you'll always be there,
I love how you use your hands,
Making me feel like I'm flying over distant lands.
In God we trust,
You know in these times that's a must,
You're rated in church,
That's a nice place to perch,
God sets your life on fire,
From that position, I hope you'll never retire,
Speaking the Word over our lives,
Ensuring our walk with God always thrives,
I love you for being a christian,
Especially when I want to get you in "position",
You always stand up for what God says is right,
Especially when i get horny at night.
So as this poem draws to a close,
I'm just making sure everyone knows,
That I appreciate you very much,
And I hope my actions will be viewed as such,
Never throw away my love,
As it is surpassed only by the One from above,
Treat me well and appreciate me,
And i can promise you joy & ecstasy,
I hope you're prepared to marry soon,
I'm thinking about a Saturday next year around noon,
A love like this will be treasured for its rarity,
And enjoyed for its intensity.
I love you, Nicole Staci Morgan.
(From the most decent guy you know.)

Oral Sex
What is wrong with oral sex? Why is this hypocritical society in Jamaica so against it when they KNOW most of thema re doing it? Is it a Godly thing to do? God DID say the marriage bed is undefiled. Does this mean that oral sex ia a sanctioned activity? Also is anal sex between married heterosexual couples ok in christendom? Honestly wish that pastors would address these things directly. They seem to still be pretending that christians only have sex in the missionary position! Silly old men! They need to stop placing God in their little box and thinking that their parishioners are still as gullible as they were 50 years ago. Long live oral sex! I personally don't think there's any better feeling sexually than oral sex except conventional sex with a girl who can do Kegel exercises. But then again, that's just me & my opinion. Later.
Why...?
Why don't they read the rulebook? Why don't they read their Bible? Why do they complain about trivia? Why can't they care about others besides themselves & loved ones? Why can't they think of consequences? Why can't they believe in themselves? Why can't they use the power of God effectively? Whay do I have to deal with their crap? Why can't I trust the church leaders? Why can't Christians keep their Word? Why do non-chrisitians SEEM to be better than christians? Why, oh why?
Returning to God
Concerning the group though, I'll be trying to deal with my spiritual life first. Then I'll endeavour to lift them up as high as possible. I hope they do their part. I'm supposed to help them deal with their own spirituality but they don't SEEM interested in making the effort. I honestly think I'm wasting my time as whatever I do isn't appreciated by them. I'll hold out a little longer though. Hopefully they come through. What should I do? Any suggestions?
Teenagers
I'm convinced, based on the group I have, that teenagers are basically bigger versions of selfish, little babies. They have needs but pretend that they don't need anything. They are fearful but act as if they fear nothing. They don't know life yet but refuse to take instructions. What am I to do? This group annoys me no end because they insist on looking for solutions to problems EVERYWHERE but God. I can't understand. Honestly. They complain about everything not going the way they like but refuse to get off their lazy backsides and get the thing fixed. No wonder the country is in crisis! n my group, I'm EXPECTED to be perfect. Nobody seems to realize that I have to fight the same things ( and even more) as they do. They don't support each other (or me) yet complain that the group isn't working right. It won't because the group is only as strong as its weakest member. I'm trying to deal with the weaker members now. We'll see how that goes. Later. This is so frustrating though. When will they wake up? Do I need to remove some of them? It's so tempting to do so. Maybe I should...
Abigail's Funeral
It was well attended by many sorrowful people. Guys cried like girls, girls cried like girls. The tributes were well done despite the choked up voices. Latoya sang a tribute but was fighting the tears. The guys sang & sounded well. Proud of them. They looked neat in their litle shirts too. Didn't take any pictures though. Thought it would break the mood. Burial was at Dovecot. I hope we guys can help Jhenelle & family get over her loss. Later.

Why did God invent sex? (Part 1)
Really now? If it was just procreation, couldn't He have made a simpler to do it? Why not let the man only ejacualate when HE wants for a change? Tired of semen now. Over the course of my life, semen has never been my friend. Girls are too fertile nowadays so I wish the male pill would come out in time for marriage. Just my thoughts. Not the views of the church. And why didn't God make orgasms last longer? Why can't we have sex at 90? I think it's unfair. Sex only between the ages of 6 - 70. Oh well but our God is sovereign. Just an idea. More another time.
Membership Interview.
4 of my students went out for it recently. They were Maurice, Troy, Ronica & Kimberly. I hope they went well. Still curious about Kim's interview though. Why those questions? I'll wait till I ask Chris. Just proud tha tthey went through with it. Waiting on Oneil, Akeame, & Jerdine now. Pray for them please.

Another Poem for Abigail
Oh Abby, dear Abby,
It's so sudden and i miss u so badly,
Oh Abby, dear Abby,
It hurts when I know there's no life in your body.
I didn't know u well,
But your face does ring a bell,
In heaven is where u dwell,
Very far from the gates of hell.
Your family is grieving,
So sad that so soon u r leaving,
But while our chests are heaving,
God's arms are doing the receiving.
God is no fool,
That's why we should keep cool,
Because satan has no tool,
That can upset God's sovereign rule.
Jhenelle & family miss you,
In your absence, there is nothing to do,
There is no replacement child who,
Can take your place & make them forget too.
We love u then & we love u now,
To your life we salute so u can take a bow,
Even though to move on we don't yet know how,
We'll always remember u, this we all vow.
In memory of Abigail.
